Just Another Bump in the Road...

So, I went to Stanford today quite excited about the fact that this was my last chemo!!! Turns out, my white blood cell count, specifically my neutrophils (the main infection-fighting cells), were too low to get chemo today (at 280, when normal starts at 1500). so they had to postpone it a week. I got an injection instead, and two to take home with me for tomorrow and Wednesday. Please pray that I will remain infection-free, and that I will actually be able to get chemo next Monday!!

I was pretty bummed about the delay, but I am trusting that God is faithful and that He is in control of all our days. Thank you for all your prayers! I will write more later, but it is late now and I am off to bed.

Oh, so sorry about the delay!
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" Romans 15:13
You are both in our prayers without ceasing.

Christie ... I share in your disappointment, as it is difficult to have to "throttle back" at times. I also share in your absolute confidence that God is in control, and He is in control of your treatment.

I encourage you, precious one, to consider doing something that Drew shared with one of his coaches, while attending OCS ... Drew told him that he (Drew) was learning to change the "D" in disappointment to an "H" and make it "His" appointment. That is how Drew has dealt with his disappointments in life ... he tries to make them into God's appointments ... trying to see what God could possibly be doing, during the disappointment and delay, that is making him (Drew) an even better person. I just sense I am to share this example with you and see what God does with it. :)

I am in agreement with you on your request to remain infection-free, so you can receive your final chemo treatment on Monday. That is how I am now praying for you.

Thank you for your most recent blog entry, in addition to all your blog entries. Please continue to "set your face like flint," sweet one. And, as Kay Arthur says, "Hangest Thou In There." :) I'm so proud of you, Christie. You are doing well! Awesome, in fact!

P.S. Guess what is on K-LOVE AGAIN, right now, as I write this? ... Michael W. Smith's new version of "Mighty to Save." Wow!

Christie, dear, it's Sunday night and I'm thinking of you and praying that your white cell count will allow you to finish up your chemo tomorrow. If not, we will wonder why - and in God's time we do get answers. Hang in there and remember the frog - "fully rely on God." Love you, Gahgee
